Bangladesh's inflation rate dropped further to 8.71% in December, as per the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Monday.
In November, the rate was 8.85%, so the reduction was 0.14 percentage points.
Overall inflation spiralled to 9.52% in August - the highest in a decade.
December was the fourth consecutive month consumer prices showed a downward trend since September.
The rate further decreased to 8.91% in October and continued dropping for the next consecutive months as well.
The food index dropped to 7.91% in December from 8.14% in November.
The non-food index also dropped slightly to 9.96% in December, from 9.98% in November.
Earlier on December 3, Planning Minister MA Mannan had said that the general point-to-point inflation has been reducing in the country and it would further reduce in December.
Mannan also said that the overall inflation trend of Bangladesh is now in good shape.
