Unicef organizes a 16-day-long activation campaign

On the occasion of the 16-day-long activism campaign organized by Unicef and the Bangladeshi government, Unicef organized an event at the Government Physical Education College of Mohammadpur in the capital. 

Child Protection Specialist of Unicef Bangladesh Monira Hasan, Resource Person of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Nurul Islam, VAWC Officer Arifuzzaman and Mohammadpur Institute of Physical Education Principal Parveen Laila attended the event, reads a press release. 

More than 400 teenagers and 200 parents were invited to the event. The closing ceremony began at 12pm. The event started with a luncheon, welcoming new teens with t-shirts and an awareness session. 

In this activity campaign, calling 1098 in an emergency was encouraged to help women and children. Kids were also encouraged to play sports on the field. 

A sports competition was held among the teenagers who attended the event. Badminton, football and running competitions were held. The guests attending the event also included teenagers and children. An interview session was organized for media personnel at the end of the ceremony.

The theme of this activation campaign, which took place in three phases in 25 districts across the country is “Now is the time to stand up against violence against women and children.” Expression Limited is providing technical support to implement this program.
