Finnish companies keen to invest in Bangladesh

Companies based in Finland are willing to engage in Bangladesh's energy, smart city development, and port management sectors and want to be its development partners, said the Finnish ambassador. 

Ritva Koukku-Ronde, the Finnish ambassador to Bangladesh, stated that Finnish companies can invest here in the energy, smart city, and port management sectors in an effort to increase bilateral trade. 

She also asked for further assistance from the FBCCI.

According to a statement from the FBCCI, Bangladesh is undergoing an infrastructure transition in line with its objective of becoming a developed nation by 2041. 

The seminar was jointly organized by the FBCCI and the Finnish embassy in Dhaka on Finland's "Smart Infrastructure Day: Building Bangladesh."

"I believe their experiences and technologies can help Bangladesh in its development journey," said FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin.

According to him, Bangladesh will be the ninth-largest consumer market in the world in terms of size.

The conference featured presentations from the Bangladeshi Summit Group, Bashundhara Group, Gemcon Group, and Cosmos Group as well as Finnish companies like Nokia, Wärtsilä, Elematic, and Konecranes.
