The first installed products were carried from Khatuwas ICD in Haryana, India to Benapole in Bangladesh.
On the first day, 30 wagons equivalent to 40 feet of containers arrived on October 18 and started on October 6, reads a press release.
The transportation is operating under the Indian National Logistics Policy announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Hero Motocorp and Procter and Gamble (P&G) are the first few customers to benefit from this service.

Under the Cross Border Rail transportation between two countries, India exported goods worth $16.15 billion to Bangladesh in FY22, an increase of more than 66 percent from $9.69 billion in the year before making Bangladesh as the 4th largest destination for Indian exports.
mgX currently operates regular cargo trains from Ambala, Indore, Mandideep and Kolkata to Benapole.
Referring to the report published by National Transport Development Committee (NTDPC), Anis Ahmed, founder and group CEO of MGH Group said rail transportation, emits 17-gram CO2 equivalent per PKM as compared to 84 grams per PKM in the case of road transport, which makes rail more sustainable and economical.
Jyotsana Sagar, deputy general manager, of Hero Moto corp, added- Due to perineal issues at the India-Bangladesh border, which causes delays in delivering the goods on time, while sending cargo by Road, Hero has been looking for developing an alternative route/Mode for Bangladesh.
“Under the facility, we will be able to control and plan our Supply chain better and in a more economical and sustainable way,” he added.
However, Himanshu Pant, deputy managing director, MGH Group-India, said Railway transport is economical and safe to carry any kind of goods.
He further said MGX.com is planning to start a weekly train service from Delhi to Benapole following requests from various exporters.
Himanshu Pant expected that the train service would play a good role in the export of Bangladeshi products.
