The country’s leading business conglomerate Pran-RFL group has launched a nursing college in Natore named Amjad Khan Chowdhury Nursing College.
According to a press release, Uzma Chowdhury, chairman of the nursing college and director of Corporate Finance at Pran-RFL Group, inaugurated the college through a program on Monday.
Earlier, the conglomerate launched a 50 bedded hospital in Natore.
The group inaugurated the nursing college to contribute to the health sector in Rajshahi and Natore regions.
To develop skilled human resources in the nursing sector, there are many facilities including an experienced teacher with a PhD degree, a training facility, a modern lab, a large campus, and accommodation at low cost for the students.
Addressing the program, Uzma Chowdhury said: “Nursing is a very noble profession across the globe and it has huge demand in the country. The profession can play an important role if students are able to get standard education through nursing college. We have launched the nursing college to contribute to the health sector.”
She also added: “The aim of the group is to create employment in the country through the business initiative. We have already employed more than 1,40,000 people directly in our workplace. Our dream, the students will serve the nation after acquiring the proper knowledge from our nursing college. Therefore, we have some hospitals in different locations including Natore, Narsingdi and Habiganj and the students will get job opportunities there.”
Prince Roy, principal at the nursing college said: “We have started our courses on BSC in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery and Diploma in Midwifery. All curricula have been adorned with the specific syllabus of Bangladesh Nursing Council and our nursing college is under Rajshahi Medical University.”
Hazrat Ali, general manager at Pran Agro Limited’s factory and Touhiduzzaman, assistant general manager of Public Relations at Pran-RFL Group, among others, were present at the inauguration program.
