A Bangladesh investment roadshow was held in Istanbul, Turkey recently to attract more Turkish investment to the country. Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Bangladesh Embassy in Türkiye and Bangladesh Consulate in Istanbul jointly organized the Investment Roadshow.
The country’s leading home appliances and consumer electronics company Singer Bangladesh Limited with its parent company Arcelik AS Turkiye - the largest consumer durable company in Turkiye, sponsored the event with the support of FBCCI, reads a press release.
It is to be noted here that Arcelik is a part of Koc Holding, Turkey, a Global Fortune 500 company. It possesses 12 brands, 28 production facilities, 74 subsidiaries in 49 countries, and 30 R&D and design centres around the globe.
A good number of Turkish investors alongside officials from BIDA, embassy of Bangladesh in Turkiye, the Bangladesh Consulate, FICCI, Arcelik Turkiye and Singer Bangladesh participated in the event held on June 20, 2022.
Among others, Mosud Mannan, ndc, ambassador of Bangladesh in Turkey, Mustafa Osman Turan, ambassador of Turkey in Bangladesh (attended virtually) Md Sirazul Islam, executive chairman, BIDA, Md Jashim Uddin, president, FBCCI, Mohammed Nore-Alam, consul general, Bangladesh Consulate, Cemal Can Dincer, chief commercial officer, Arçelik and Singer Bangladesh CEO MHM Fairoz and Hidayet Onur Özden, chairman of Turkiye-Bangladesh Business Council attended the event.
At the event, MHM Firoz stated that Arcelik and Singer are happy to be associated with this august event with an objective to become a part of the ongoing development process in Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Investment Roadshow showcased the overall investment ecosystem of Bangladesh for the potential investors and business delegations of Turkey to attract more Turkish FDI to Bangladesh as well as to enhance business opportunities between Bangladesh and Turkey.
Before a panel discussion, BIDA Executive Chairman Md Sirazul Islam presented the keynote paper where he gave an overview of the investment climate and investment potential.
He highlighted the various initiatives and reforms of the government in ensuring an investment-friendly environment.
Participants from Bangladesh also visited a state-of-the-art Arcelik manufacturing complex and R&D centre in Istanbul and appreciated seeing the sustainable and green initiatives by Arcelik.
