A new trust fund titled ‘Accounting 1979 Batch Trust Fund’ has been established at Dhaka University (DU).
On behalf of the batch, PSC Member Binoy Krishna Bala handed over a cheque for Tk40 lakh to DU Treasurer Prof Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed on Monday at the VC’s Lounge to set up this trust fund, reads a press release. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the function.
DU Registrar Prabir Kumar Sarker, Dean of Business Studies Faculty Prof Dr Muhammad Abdul Moyeen, Chaiman of the Department of Accounting & Information Systems Prof Dr Dhiman Kumar Chowdhury and some donors of the Accounting 1979 batch were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this trust fund, every year some financially challenged and meritorious students of the Department of the Accounting & Information Systems will be given scholarship.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman thanked the donors of the Accounting 1979 Batch, especially Treasurer Prof Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed. Other Alumni of the University would be inspired and students of the Department of Accounting & Information Systems would be benefitted by this generous initiative, DU VC hoped.
