The government has set the target for borrowing from savings certificates alone has been set at Tk35,000 crore to cover the budget deficit for the 2022-23 fiscal year.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal revealed the information during the speech for the 2022-2023 fiscal year on Thursday.
The finance minister unveiled a Tk678,000 crore national budget for the upcoming budget.
The deficit of the budget is estimated at Tk2,41,793 crore.
The government plans to take Tk1,06,334 crore from the banking sector to fill the deficit.
Besides, the government planned to borrow Tk35,000 crore from savings certificates and Tk5,001 crore from other sectors.
