Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited celebrated its 21st anniversary on May 10. SIBL started its banking operations on May 10, 2001 and the bank has been operating banking activities by complying with Islamic Shariah and has successfully completed its 21 years.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the bank, special Doa mahfil and Quran recitation were organized at all branches and sub-branches including the corporate head office, reads a press release.
In that Doa Mahfil, special prayers have been offered for the greater welfare of the nation, the Chairman of the board of directors of the bank Mohammed Younus and the Managing Director (Current charge) Abdul Aziz participated in the Doa Mahfil and delivered a speech wishing the bank continued prosperity.
SIBL has so far provided advanced banking services to its’ customers through 132 branches, sub-branches, priority banking units, offshore banking units, a remarkable number of ATM booths and agent banking outlets in remote areas of the country.
As of April 30, the total deposit and investment amount of the bank is about Tk44,726 (forty-four thousand seven hundred twenty-six) crores.
The total volume of import and export trade from January 1 to April 30 is about 19,128 (nineteen thousand one hundred and twenty-eight) crores.
At present, the number of customers of this bank is more than 1.12 million.
Shahjalal Islami Bank is one of the top financially strong banks in the country and in this short span of time the financial base of the bank has reached a very strong position.
The number of customers and the scope of business of the bank are gradually expanding to the wise board, skilled manpower and timely formulation and implementation of different types of policies.
Among others, the Directors Md Sanaullah Sahid, Engineer Md Towhidur Rahman, KhandakerShakib Ahmed, Independent Directors EkramulHaque, K A M Majedur Rahman and Nasir Uddin Ahmed, the Additional Managing Directors of the bank S M Mainuddin Chowdhury and MianQuamrul Hasan Chowdhury, the Deputy Managing Directors Md Shahjahan Shiraj, M Akhter Hossain and Md Nazimuddoula along with the divisional heads of various departments and officials participated in the program. The doa and munajat were conducted by Mawlana Md Farid Uddin, the head of the Shariah Inspection and Compliance Division of the Bank.
