BIAC and MIAC signs cooperation agreement

A cooperation agreement was concluded between the Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) and the Maldives International Arbitration Center (MIAC), with effect from April 13.

The parties have agreed to establish a framework for the two organizations to work together toward the promotion of arbitration as a means for the peaceful settlement of international disputes, said a press release.

Under the MoU, the parties will be able to exchange information and publications of mutual interest in the field of commercial arbitration and organize seminars, symposia, workshops, conferences, and awareness and training programs relating to ADR.

During the online signing ceremony, the MoU was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of BIAC, Kaiser A Chowdhury, and the CEO of MIAC, Mamdhooha Ali, on behalf of their respective organizations. 

Mahbuba Rahman, general manager, Asif S Bhuiyan, assistant counsel, Nuzhat Kamal, assistant counsel from BIAC, and Aminath Raya Ali, legal counsel, and Mansha Abdulla Salih, legal counsel from MIAC were present.
