Toyota's popular Noah and Voxy family minivans have sold over one million units since their introduction in 2001 and this February, Toyota has introduced the fourth-generation Noah and Voxy vehicles in Japan to continue the success of this dynamic vehicle.
The Noah and the Voxy models are very popular choices in Bangladesh, as these vehicles offer more seats– something which is a necessity for large families and corporate houses and they have relatively less AIT (Advanced Income Tax) of Tk30,000.
Navana, the official distributor of Toyota in Bangladesh does not import the Noah but if you want to get a hold of these minivans, many car dealers are already taking preorders.
The new fourth generation comes with greater comfort, convenience, and peace of mind than the previous models, encouraging customers to load up their hobbies and toys and hit the road. These minivans were built using the TNGA (GA-C) platform to achieve a better minivan appeal through Toyota’s latest technology fixtures.
Exterior:
With great attention to detail, Toyota’s world-renowned craftsmanship, and a long-lasting style, the Noah has pursued simplicity from the very beginning. A single, clear icon, a bold grille in the same colour as the exterior, and a sharp lamp design make the front end seem majestic.
The S-Z and S-G grades are Aero models with a prominent plated grille that creates a bold front appearance, as well as a broad and low rear end that demonstrates the aggressiveness of the conventional Aero styling.
Interior:
The cabins of the Noah and the Voxy are largely similar, too. There’s a very fluid dashboard design with a variety of trim materials available and a central floating touchscreen.
To create a distinctive ambience, the metal frames on the dashboard are wrapped in soft fabrics.
Captain seats are available in the second row of the seven-seater variants. The chairs have huge foldable side tables in addition to Ottoman mechanics (a first for this class) and seat heaters.
In the second row of the eight-seater variants, there is a three-person bench seat with a 60/40 split-up configuration.
As a package option, special two-person bench chairs with handrails can also be given. Even with a child seat installed in the second row, this layout enables simple access to the third-row seats because of the access space given to the left of the second-row seats.
To create an open and spacious ambience, the interior colouration is based on black.
How it drives:
Keeping in mind that these minivans aren’t meant to be fun when it comes to driving, Toyota has promised to have come a long way with this fourth-generation model.
It is way more refined and is likely to be much better at handling and stability compared to the previous generations.
A 2.0-litre Dynamic Force Engine linked to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is available, as well as a hybrid arrangement utilizing a 1.8-litre gasoline engine.
Both versions are available in four-wheel or two-wheel drive configurations in the international market, however, 2WD variants are more popular in Bangladesh.
The latest Toyota Safety Sense features are also included.
A powerful direct drive system with remarkable fuel efficiency is achieved by combining a 2.0-litre Dynamic Force Engine (M20A-FKS).
As a gasoline-powered vehicle, it is also in a class of its own as the fuel efficiency of these minivans is remarkable, with a mileage of 15.1 km/litre.
Direct Shift-CVT features a 10-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic for fun shift changes with the sense of a manual transmission.
Verdict:
As I mentioned before, the Noah and Voxy models are immensely popular in the Bangladeshi market and without a doubt, the new generation isn’t going to be an exception. With lower AIT than similar-sized SUVs, these vehicles are now the number one choice for corporate houses.
The price of these vehicles is yet to be set, as JDM units haven’t been imported yet. However, it is speculated to cost not less than Tk45 lakh to Tk50 lakh.
