Shohoz launches vaccine registration campaign for transport workers

Shohoz, the largest online ticket destination of Bangladesh, has initiated a campaign to limit the outbreak of the Covid-19.

Through this campaign, Shohoz will assist the transport workers of Bangladesh to register online for Covid-19 vaccination, the company said in a press release.

Grace Kanta Sarkar, head of Marketing and Analytics of Shohoz, said: “Since our inception, we wanted to evolve the transport industry of Bangladesh and believed that travel safety is an integral part of it.

“Through our tech platform we allow insurance companies to provide travel risk coverage to our bus travelers, including Covid-19 insurance. Also, as the market leader, Shohoz has a duty to the citizens and our partners. So, we took the initiative to register transport workers for covid-19 vaccination,” Sarkar added.

On Monday, Shohoz deployed on-the-spot registration booths at Mohakhali and Gabtoli bus terminals where transport workers were able to register online for Covid-19 vaccination with the assistance of Shohoz agents.

For the registration process, all that the bus drivers and helpers needed to do was bring their national ID cards and phones.

As part of the coronavirus resistance, the government has said no transport workers can continue work without being vaccinated. However more than 50% of the transport workers have yet to receive vaccines.

The primary reason behind it is the lack of knowledge and accessibility of online registration, the press release reads.

If this unfortunate scenario continues, the bus transport sector will face irreparable damage going forward, Shohoz says.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Shohoz, along with its 100 plus operators, have been extra cautious in handing the situation keeping the Government safety measures and the consumers safety as its highest priority.

In order to ramp up the government’s vaccination program all over the country, Shohoz as a responsible ticketing platform set up these temporary registration booths, the release further reads.
