Best of Bangladesh’s Biryanis at the Westin

The Westin Dhaka has organized an exciting culinary exhibition of flavourful biryanis at Seasonal Tastes restaurant. From September 1 to 9, food lovers can experience seven types of Biryanis of Bangladesh with The Westin Dhaka.

Day one at the Biryanis of Bangladesh featured Kacchi Biryani, Morog Polao, Ilish Polao, also known as Hilsha Polao, which is an aromatic and flavorful Bengali-style fish pilaf, Beef Tehari, exclusively prepared with beef cooked in mustard oil, along with small potatoes, Akhni Biryani, a Chittagong special dish, and Prawn Biryani, which consisted of rice layered with a yoghurt sauce and spice-marinated shrimps.

The delicious Hilsha fish polao is a mixture of Hilsa fish, plain polao, yogurt and more. And, if you’re a foodie who loves these authentic Bengali dishes, you should definitely check out Biryanis of Bangladesh at Seasonal Tastes. The Ilish Polao was fabulous, with the fish perfectly marinated to a soft texture and not at all oily, unlike many other restaurants. The Kacchi Biryani was legendary, and a must-have if you are visiting the place. The meat was cooked perfectly, making it soft and tender, while the aromatic rice, along with the soft pillowy potatoes, tasted amazing! The smell was mouth-watering and it was a well-cooked dish, all in all.

As for the Morog Polao, the basmati rice was cooked to perfection, while the juicy chicken made the dish extra flavourful. The Jali Kabab was extremely tasty, and complemented the biryanis quite well. The fragrant spiced Akhni Biryani was the highlight, since it is rarely available in Dhaka, and one should definitely give this mouth-watering dish a try if you are visiting Seasonal Tastes from September 1 to 9.

Prawn Biryani was also available, and the yogurt sauce gave the dish a unique taste, along with the shrimps marinated with fragrant spices. The experience was absolutely amazing, since maintaining proper hygiene was of utmost priority.

Despite the simplicities, all biryani dishes were so tasty that it made the meal and the overall experience quite exceptional. Biryani, whilst not unique to Bangladesh, has been made authentically with special aromatic spices, meat or fish, rice, and potatoes.
