Online marketplace Eorange on Wednesday announced further delay of deliveries, just a day after two of its owners were sent to prison following a case lodged against the duo.
"Dear customers and resellers of eorange.shop, we would like to inform you that we are working tirelessly for all the activities and delivery,” reads a Facebook post on the platform’s official page.
"But in the last few days, some customers have filed cases against our board and officials of our organization to harass us and are spreading rumours through social media… Many of our officials have already resigned and many are suffering from insecurity. Our officials cannot go to the office and the delivery men cannot go to the warehouse,” eorange further said.

"In this situation, we are not able to conduct normal activities as announced earlier. Still, we have started customer care and live chat just for you. But if attacks, lawsuits and harassment continue, it will be difficult for us to continue our normal activities.
"We have been receiving a lot of emails for refunds in the last few days. We are doing our best to ensure that refunds are issued quickly via SSL.
"We need your help; we urge you to cooperate and avoid a hostile attitude," the post adds.
Fearing the owners of the company will flee the country, disgruntled customers sued the owners on Monday night, while also continuing with their protests in front of National Press Club in the capital on Tuesday.
As per the case statement, previous owner Sonia Mehjabin, her husband Masukur Rahman, Amanullah, Bithi Akhter, and Kawser have been accused of embezzling Tk1,100 crore.
According to the platform’s earlier posts, Bithi Akter was named the new owner of the company.

The platform’s website mentioned a post where it said that “Eorange.shop, is a proprietorship concern of Bithi Akter.”
A Dhaka court on Tuesday sent two owners of the online marketplace to jail rejecting their bail pleas.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Bakkar Siddique issued the order after Sonia Mehjabin and her husband Masukur Rahman surrendered before the court seeking bail in the case.
The consumers also sought the prime minister’s intervention into the matter, during Tuesday's protest. The protesters also sought the intervention of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, e-CAB, ICT Ministry, and the Commerce Ministry in safeguarding Digital Bangladesh.
