Pathao resumes full service, including bike ridesharing

The Cabinet Division has issued a notification announcing a relaxation of the nationwide strict lockdown from Wednesday to facilitate the economic recovery in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In compliance with the government’s decision, Pathao resumed full service from the same day, according to a press release.

All of Pathao’s services, including Pathao Rides, Food, Parcel, Courier, Health, and other regular services of the platform, will be available to users.

Pathao has placed the highest priority on safeguarding the health and safety of its users during this pandemic.

Accordingly, Pathao has facilitated health safety training for and provided protective equipment — masks, hand sanitizers, and gloves — to its drivers and delivery agents.

The company has also introduced a new feature that ensures drivers comply with the mask requirement.

Furthermore, Pathao has rolled out various initiatives to curb the spread of Covid-19.

These include: registering over 10,000 front-line workers for vaccination, in collaboration with A2I and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; launching Pathao Health and Pathao Pharma in collaboration with various healthcare service providers to expand access to quality healthcare; onboarding transgendered people onto Pathao Food as delivery agents; and introducing free ambulance services for Covid-19 patients in Dhaka in partnership with Akij Bakers Limited.

Fahim Ahmed, president of Pathao, said: "We welcome the government's decision to relax the lockdown to enable the economic recovery. Since the outset of the pandemic, Pathao has placed relentless focus on ensuring the health and safety of our users.

“This time will be no different — we are determined to keep 'Moving Bangladesh' by enabling a safe journey and experience for all of our valued consumers and partners," he added.
