Snowtex Group, a business group directly involved with the export of readymade garments, has received DHL-Daily Star Award for 2019 as the best enterprise in the country.
The 19th edition of Bangladesh Business Awards, an initiative of global logistics provider DHL Express and The Daily Star, was organised virtually on Saturday.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi attended the virtual event as chief guest while country manager of DHL Express Bangladesh Md Miarul Haque, and Daily Star publisher and editor Mahfuz Anam also attended the event.
Binod Chaudhary, chairman of CG Corp Global, a Nepalese conglomerate with a portfolio that comprises more than 169 companies and 79 brands in 24 countries, delivered a keynote speech at the annual event.
Snowtex Group managing director SM Khaled, in his immediate reaction, said the business group has always maintained commitment and honesty in its long years of business.
“While the company maintained its commitment with buyers since beginning, it has also prioritised commitment and honesty in every sector of business. The company always maintained highest quality in product delivery, and want to continue it in days ahead,” he said.
Snowtex started its journey in 2000 as a buying house and gradually introduced one factory after another in the apparel sector over the years.
It established its first factory Snowtex Apparels in 2005 and gradually established Cut N Sew Ltd in 2011, Snowtex Outerwear in 2014, and Snowtex Sportswear in 2019.
In 2018, the group launched its new fashion retail brand Sara Lifestyle in local market to provide quality products at a reasonable price.
Currently, over 16,000 workers and staffs are employed with the business group.
