US-based transportation network company DRiViLL has formally launched its operations in Dhaka.
The app-based company’s ride-sharing service kicked off through an event at the Lakeshore Hotel at Gulshan on Tuesday, according to a press release.
Senior officials of the company were present while MP Nazrul Islam Babu attended the function via videoconference as the chief guest.
DRiViLL Founder and CEO Mohammad Wahid Ujjal, an American of Bangladeshi descent, could not attend due to the coronavirus epidemic.
DRiViLL is committed and sincere to make communication and travel safe and reliable in the life of the citizens, said the release. The company’s main goal is to gain the people’s trust with their service and sincerity in the competitive market.
Like in the developed world, current and modern technology has been used in the DRiViLL app. So that drivers and passengers can travel without fear , according to the release.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ride-sharing services are closed around the country except in Dhaka in line with the government instructions.
Therefore, the release said, DRiViLL’s activities will start only in Dhaka for now. However, anyone can go from Dhaka to any part of Bangladesh through its intercity service.
Their services will gradually spread outside the capital and across the country, it added.
Earlier, Wahid had told the media that the company, which started its journey in early 2019, will also launch its services in two other countries along with Bangladesh.
“We will operate our services as per the government guideline,” he had said, adding that security and low-cost ride-sharing services were DRiViLL’s main goals.
