'Dakche Amar Desh' to support 50,000 vulnerable families

AB Bank, Aamra Networks, Edison Group, Epyllion & Radio Bhumi Group have joined into 'Dakche Amar Desh' (My Nation Calls) initiative created by Grameenphone and Brac to help most vulnerable and affected families from Covid-19.

In this phase, Dakche Amar Desh will support 50,000 vulnerable families in providing emergency food assistance, says a press release.

Yasir Azman, GP of CEO said, "Now is the time to come together — with patience, understanding, and compassion. We invited all individuals/enterprises who can afford to join this initiative 'Dakche Amar Desh. We are grateful to our industry friends who have been generously responding positively and coming forward."

Executive Director of Brac Asif Saleh, said, "We are facing a humanitarian crisis unlike any we have experienced. Given the nature of the crisis, the need for partnerships is greater than ever. The prolonged nature of the crisis has left millions of families under dire economic conditions and we need more individuals and private sector partners to come forward, enabling us to scale up the support interventions further."

Initially, Brac supported 200,000 and Grameenphone supported 100,000 families under the 'Dakche Amar Desh' initiative.

Grameenphone and Brac have been urging everyone to join the cause of 'Dakche Amar Desh' and help the vulnerable population.
