foodpanda, Shwapno launch grocery delivery service

Online food delivery service foodpanda and retail super shop brand Shwapno have officially launched an on-demand grocery and medicine delivery service through its app in the country, titled "pandamart."

It presents customers an access to a range of daily lifestyle offers, including on-demand delivery service for groceries, daily essentials and medicine, easily delivered at their doorsteps, says a press release.

Customers will be able to get frozen food, dry food, fresh fruit, vegetables and daily household necessities.

With many people looking to avoid grocery shopping in an effort to fight the spread of Covid-19, and in compliance with the latest directive from the government, foodpanda launched ‘pandamart’ so that customers can conveniently access any essentials they need from the comfort of their homes, the release added.

The new service, which was on trial last week, is made available on the already existing ‘foodpanda’ app on Google Play Store.

The service has started in major areas in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet and will be rolling out across the rest of the 25 cities that foodpanda is operational in the coming weeks.

Ambareen Reza, CEO of foodpanda Bangladesh, said, “We are trying to speed up the roll out across Bangladesh as soon as possible because we want the community to know that they can rely on foodpanda in this time of crisis.”

Sohel Tanvir Khan, business director for Shwapno, said, “Customers will be able to easily access our quality products from home through foodpanda. Our employees are working dedicatedly 24/7 maintaining all safety, health and hygiene guidelines."
