‘1st HSBC Business Excellence Awards’ felicitates 8 organizations

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Limited in Bangladesh awarded eight organizations in different categories for their leadership in promoting the country and contributing to the sustainable growth of the economy.

The eight winners were awarded crests through a ceremony at the ‘1st HSBC Business Excellence Awards’ held at the city on Saturday, according to a press release.

The eight organizations which received the awards were SQUARE Group (Textiles division), DBL Group, Janata Sadat Group, Walton Group, Amigo Bangladesh Ltd, Max Group, Meghna Group of Industries,  and Brac.

The program was organized in association with the Ministry of Commerce and UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT).

Minister of Commerce, Tipu Munshi, was the chief guest at the event.

He was joined by Special Guests Robert Chatterton Dickson, British high commissioner to Bangladesh, and Fazle Kabir, governor of Bangladesh Bank.

Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bangladesh, Francois de Maricourt, said, “Our aim is to support and enable businesses to connect with global opportunities – something HSBC has been doing for more than 150 years around the world. Businesses and entrepreneurs in Bangladesh have been fuelling the dynamic economic growth of Bangladesh and we are proud to recognize and encourage them for their perseverance and hard work”.

Deputy CEO and Country Head of Wholesale Banking, HSBC Bangladesh, Md Mahbub ur Rahman said “We would like to thank businesses and entrepreneurs in Bangladesh for their relentless efforts to make Bangladesh’s mark in the global arena. Their contributions in growing the country’s trade, developing its infrastructure and fulfilling its domestic demand make Bangladesh’s growth outlook even brighter”.
