A conference on school banking was held in the district yesterday at the Tangail Shilpakala Academy premises, where managers of 32 scheduled banks discussed the merits of school banking.
A rally was held earlier in the day from Shilpakala Academy, which went across town to promote the concept of school banking.
Shahidul Islam, Tangail deputy commissioner, attended the conference as chief guest. Tajuddin Mahmud, deputy general manager of Rupali Bank’s zonal office, presided over the discussion.
Other speakers included Wahida Begum, general manager of Rupali Bank’s Mymensingh divisional office, Abul Hashem, deputy general manager of Bangladesh Bank, Mani Shankar Kudu, deputy general manager of Bangladesh Bank’s Mymensingh divisional office, and more.
