PRAN-RFL creates 18,000 jobs in Habiganj

PRAN-RFL has created some 18,000 jobs in Habiganj Industrial Park in the last three years that contributed much to socioeconomic development in the area. This industrial park will create more jobs especially for the young people in the upcoming days. Kamruzzaman Kamal, director (marketing) at PRAN-RFL Group, said this on Monday at a view exchange meeting with Habiganj journalists held at the conference room of the industrial park. “The area has witnessed a massive socioeconomic development because of the establishment of industrial park. 80% of the total staff are local while 55% are women,” Kamruzzaman said. PRAN-RFL Group’s factory came into being in March, 2014. Presently the factory has 37 production lines and 8-10 lines will be added by next year which will create jobs for 5-7 thousand people. HM Manjurul Islam, general manager of the group, said the company is working not only to create employment but also to extend scope of education by establishing a school in the area. “Now 600 students are studying in the school. Moreover, we offer scholarship to meritorious students in the area. Various activities, including road construction, are going on for smooth movement of local people which will continue in the future. President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and CEO of Ekushey Tv, Monjurul Ahsan Bubul were present at the programme.
