Bikroy.com, an e-commerce platform in Bangladesh has created a forum called “Moner Janala” in association with “HeforShe” campaign of UN Women to increase the number of female employees and ensure women empowerment in their organization.
As a part of this forum’s regular activities, Bikroy recently organized a special event for theirfemale employees at the Dhaka’s Platinum Grand restaurant, said a press release.
Founder and Managing Director of Pulse Health Care Services, and newly elected President of the Dhaka Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs Global (TiE) Rubaba Dowla attended the event as special guest.
Hailing Bikroy for their initiative, Rubaba said women have to deal with the challenges of their professional, personal, and family lives simultaneously, which can be very exhausting for them. Many of these women don’t have an outlet to share their frustrations, she added.
Speaking at the event, Head of HR and Culture of Bikroy Rehenuma Islam saidthat Bikroy aspired to grow as a company along with their talented employees.
“Moner Janala is a platform where our female employees can share their feelings and opinionsabout the work environment, and talk about any challenges they face here,” Rehenuma explained, adding thatthey invited established female guest speakers to their events to inspire and encouragetheir female employees to excel at work.
Among others, Bikroy’s Head of Marketing and Ad Sales Eshita Sharmin, and Head of Marketplace Shezami Khalil, were also present at the event.
