Grameenphone has reduced the tariff on two internet packages, in accordance with the government decision to reduce VAT on internet usage from 15% to 5%.
Effective from today, the two-day 2GB internet package will be available at Tk38, as opposed to the previous Tk42. Meanwhile, the seven-day 1GB internet package will be available at Tk86, as opposed to Tk94, said a Grameenphone press release.
In the release, Grameenphone Deputy CEO and CMO Yasir Azman said: “We appreciate the government’s decision to reduce VAT, which has paved the way for Grameenphone to offer more data to our valued customers at a lower price.
Now, our customers will be able to access the internet and experience our superior network quality at more affordable prices.”
Grameenphone was recently recognized by Ookla, a global leader in internet testing and analysis, as the fastest mobile network in Bangladesh.
