Stamford University Pharmacy Alumni Association (SPAA) and Department of Pharmacy jointly organised the seminar on “Recent Development of Pharmacy Profession in Bangladesh” at the university premises on Friday.
Academics, industry people and senior government officials spoke on the occasion.
“It is high time to ensure quality dispensing of prescription medicines to patients. Pharmacy graduates have a pivotal role here,” said Maj Gen Md Mustafizur Rahman, DG of Directorate General of Drug Administration.
Ebadul Karim, Managing Director of Beacon Pharmaceuticals Limited, said Bangladesh pharmaceutical industry is on its way to reach a new height.
“But we have to focus on improving expertise and human resources and Research and Development for the sector.”

Prof M Feroze Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of Stamford University, said the alumni are the assets of a university.
“We are proud that graduate pharmacists from Stamford got established in their professions. We believe that the bonding between the alumni and the university will be even stronger in the days to come.”
More than 500 participants, including ex-students and teachers were present at the day-long Reunion Programme.
