The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Communication Club (IBACC) is going to initiate the preliminary round of FINWITZ, a finance based inter-university competition, which will be held on November 13.
The opening round will host more than 100 teams.
Four-member teams from around 25 public and private universities will participate in the competition. The groups will be given assignments to assess their skills, equity research, financial statement analysis and portfolio management.
The winning team will receive Tk150,000, while the first runner-up will win Tk75,000 and second the runner-up Tk50,000.
“IBACC over the years has organised many successful competitions that have put the talent of the brightest students of the country to the test, eventually developing them further. The steadily growing Bangladesh economy is in need of competent and skillful finance graduates. I believe that this highly competitive event will help participants develop their finance skills to a considerable extent,” said IBA Dhaka University Director Dr AKM Saiful Majid.
IBACC has teamed up with LR Global Bangladesh, a New York based investment management firm to organise FINWITZ. LR Global is the most experienced and only multinational asset management company in Bangladesh.
“The economy of Bangladesh holds great promise, and will need young and qualified leaders in the financial sector to help guide the economy further into the future,” said Senior Vice President of LR Global Bangladesh Rashed Hasan.
