Law lockdown

Regardless of allegations to the contrary, it seems the long arm of the law does not make exceptions, even for one of its own units, after an image of a clamped police vehicle surfaced on social media.
The image in question shows what appears to be a Dhaka Metropolitan Police pick-up truck with its wheel clamped tightly, in similar fashion to how the police have been clamping down illegally parked vehicles.
The Dhaka Tribune could not independently verify the authenticity of the picture, however, shadows below the clamp suggests the mechanism itself is at the least real.
If genuine, the image flies in the face of accusations from some quarters that police only embark on “wrecking” drives to extort bribes from the owners of the vehicles and do not punish their own, though it begs the question what would happen if a car chase ensued.
Then again, perhaps this is simply a demonstration of police ingenuity, as they use the wheel clamp to compensate for faulty brakes, while saving the taxpayers’ money.
