The Dhaka Tribune has won the silver award at the South Asian Digital Media Awards - SDMA 2018 under the category of “Best Data Visualization”.
The SDMA 2018 was presented at the 26th annual conference of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) 2018 in Hyderabad, India from September 25-27 with publishing executives from over 25 countries around the world.
More than 300 media executives and experts gathered at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre to explore the latest in newsrooms, journalism, digital media and print technology.
The awards were jointly presented by Google and WAN-IFRA recognizing best practices in digital publishing worldwide.
Over 30 media organizations received awards under 10 different categories this year.
The Dhaka Tribune received “Best Data Visualization” award for “The hungry children of Mother Ganges” a special investigation piece demonstrating excellence in design, usefulness and clarity of information with creativity and visual impact, as well as effectiveness on mobile devices.
