England's Jason Roy celebrates reaching his century during their World Cup match against Bangladesh in Cardiff Saturday Dhaka Tribune/Md Manik from Cardiff

Jason Roy’s 153 is the third century from an English batsman in this year’s World Cup after Joe Root and Jos Buttler (against Pakistan)

England opener Jason Roy smashed a brilliant 153 off just 121 deliveries to give his side the perfect start as the home side piled on the runs against Bangladesh.

The right-handed batsman picked up his ninth ODI centuries in just 92 balls.

He registered his hundred in the fifth ball of the 27th over.

It was a short-pitched delivery by Mustafizur Rahman and Roy pulled it comfortably.

The ball was traveling towards deep square leg where Mohammad Mithun misfielded and eventually, it went past the boundary.

Roy was watching the ball while taking the run and clashed with umpire Joel Wilson.

The umpire was also watching the ball closely and it resulted in a collision.

Roy immediately checked with the umpire to see if he was okay.

After realizing the umpire was okay, Roy then celebrated his century.

Roy’s 153 is the third century from an English batsman in this year’s World Cup after Joe Root and Jos Buttler (against Pakistan).
