The workers of five garment factories of Tuba Group have rejected the BGMEA decision over the payment of their dues.

Garment Workers Unity Forum president Moshrefa Mishu told the Dhaka Tribune that they demanded the dues of the last three months to be paid at one time.

Earlier at a tripartite meeting the BGMEA, the apex body of garment manufacturers in Bangladesh, decided to pay the dues in two phases.

Prior to that at a press conference, the workers of Tuba Group announced to besiege the BGMEA building on Tuesday demanding their three months’ withstanding wages and Eid bonuses.

The workers will also stage rallies and processions in all garment industrial areas of the country on Monday.

The dues and bonuses of the demonstrating workers of Tuba Group will be given on August 6 and 10.

The decision was taken at a tripartite meeting of the government, factory owners and workers.
