Nazmul Hasan said they will demand tight security to the visiting country; otherwise the Tigers will not take part in any series
BCB president Nazmul Hasan informed that the board will demand and ensure proper security of Bangladesh cricket team before going to an international tour from now on.
Majority of the Bangladesh players narrowly escaped a shooting at a mosque in Christchurch Friday where more than 40 people were shot dead and many others got severely injured.
Nazmul said they will demand tight security to the visiting country; otherwise the Tigers will not take part in any series.
“When any foreign team come to our country, we always provide proper security. To be honest, New Zealand is such a country that nobody expects such kind of incident there. The amount of time it took Police to reach the spot was unnatural and surprising. I believe, in our country or other countries beside us, Police or security forces always come early at the spot if such situation happens. I think they were unprepared. They may be more cautious from now on,” said the BCB supremo at a press conference in Dhaka Friday.
“I don’t know what others will do, but one thing is clear, BCB will demand proper security wherever our team visit in future. If a country provides proper security according to our demand, then we will go to the international tours, otherwise we will not go to play.
“I can say everything will change after [Friday's] incident. We will set a plan from now on to ensure proper security when our team will be on tour in future,” he concluded.
According to a source, BCB is trying to bring the players back to Bangladesh as soon as possible and sources said the Tigers will return home by Saturday night.
