Shakib shines with bat, ball as Sunrisers rise to second

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan starred with both bat and ball as his side Sunrisers Hyderabad rose to second position in the points table following their 13-run win over Kings XI Punjab at the IPL in Hyderabad Thursday. Asked to bat first, Sunrisers posted 132 losing six wickets in their stipulated 20 overs, Shakib scoring 28 off 29 balls, including three fours, before being dismissed by Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

In reply, Punjab were skittled out for 119 with four balls remaining, Shakib taking the important wickets of top-order batsman Mayank Agarwal and Australia's Aaron Finch conceding 18 runs in his three overs. In the process, Sunrisers jumped to second position in the standing with 10 points, same as table-topper Chennai Super Kings who are ahead virtue of superior net run rate.
