Montu, Alam GS candidates from different panels

The election is scheduled to be held on August 3 after a long six years

Current general secretary Abdur Rokib Montu and former general secretary Shah Alam submitted their nominations for general secretary post during the last day of submitting nomination forms for the forthcoming Bangladesh Athletics Federation Polls on Tuesday.

The election is scheduled to be held on August 3 after a long six years.

Around 45 candidates submitted their nomination forms for 28 posts including one general secretary, five vice president, two joint secretaries, one treasurer and 19 members. A total 120 councilors will be eligible to cast their votes to elect the new BAF committee.

Sadat Hossain Sohel, a councilor of Jahangirnagar University, also submitted the nomination for the general secretary post but the contest is most likely to be confined to Montu and Alam.

Montu and Alam are contesting from two different panels with the former one have the supports from  forum comprising of district and divisional sports organisers that submitted some 29 nominations while Shah Alam’s panel submitted forms for 13 posts.
