The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh Champions Cup 2019 Inter-English Medium School T20 Tournament got underway at the ULAB ground in Dhaka Friday.
The two-week long tournament was inaugurated by Bangladesh Cricket Board director and Member of the ULAB Board of Trustees, Kazi Inam Ahmed, while BCB selector and former Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar was present as the chief guest.
In the opening match, Scholastica School beat DPS STS School by five wickets.
Batting first, DPS STS posted 123 runs losing four wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Scholastica reached their destination in 18.3 overs with player of the match Jawad scoring 59 off 48 balls.
Alongside DPS STS and Scholastica, Cardiff International School, Maple Leaf International School, Sunnydale School, South Breeze School, Mangrove School and Dhanmondi Tutorial School are taking part in the tournament.
