The first practice match of the Walton Bangladesh v Oman U-21 Hockey Test Series will be held at Maulana Bhasani National Stadium in Dhaka Tuesday as the visiting side landed in the capital Monday.

The Test Series is part of the preparation for the Bangabandhu Junior Asia Cup Hockey that is scheduled to take place in Dhaka in March next year.

There will be five friendly games with the remaining four to take place Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Tuesday respectively.

“The youth team began their preparation two months ago ahead of the Bangabandhu Junior Asia Cup and Junior World Cup qualifiers. This series will help in their preparation,” said Bangladesh Hockey Federation senior vice president Abdur Rashid Sikdar during a press conference Monday.

Head coach Mamunur Rashid also said this series will help him to form a strong squad for the upcoming tournaments.

Oman head coach Tahir Zaman was delighted at coming to Bangladesh after a long time and hoped the five matches would benefit both the teams.
