Bangladesh Sports Journalists’ Association Saturday arranged a memorial meeting on senior sports journalist, freedom fighter and sports editor of Dainik Sangbad, Ajoy Barua at its office at the Bangabandhu National Stadium premises in Dhaka.

Ajoy’s long-time colleagues, senior journalists and sports organizers recalled their sweet memories with the pioneer of a sports journalist, who was a perfect gentleman.
Veteran sports journalist Mohammad Kamruzzaman, acting editor of Dainik Sangbad Khondakar Moniruzzaman, deputy secretary general of Bangladesh Olympic Association Ishtiaq Ahmed Karen, vice-president of BOA Sports Medicine Committee Professor Dr Zakir Ahmed, former BSJA president Manjurul Haque, former general secretary and cricket coach-cum-writer Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury, BSJA president Motahar Hossain Masum, general secretary Raihan al Mugni, sports journalists Kashinath Basak, Mohammad Mustafa Kamal, Parvez Alam Chowdhury and Rakibul Hasan also spoke on the occasion.
