After the success of recent original productions such as SharateAaj, Kaali, and The Lovely Mrs Mookherjee, ZEE5 has premiered murder mystery film 7 No Shanatan Sanyal this month.
Written and directed by Annapurna Basu, the film boasts a star cast including Kaushik Ganguly in his digital debut, Saoli Chatterjee, ShilajitMajumdar, SahebBhattachayra, Debdut Ghosh, Bibhash Chakraborty, Adhikari Kaushik, and Soham Mitra.
The film is an intriguing murder mystery about a 45-year-old salesman, Shanatan Sanyal, whose lack of confidence leaves him underwhelmed and disappointed in both his personal and professional life.
The film take a bittersweet turn when Shanatan’s sales job requires him to meet his namesakes, where each meeting with another Shanatan Sanyal brings him something special to keep or worthy of throwing away.
The conflict begins when all of his clients start disappearing one-by-one, leading him into a twisted journey of trust, loss and revenge.
In a press release actor Kaushik Ganguly said: “It is the power of silence that brings out the simplicities of self-negotiations inside Shanatan. Annapurna wanted his silence to speak for him, and that is what became my essence while playing it. Hats off to ZEE5, to the producers for bringing to life a commoner’s story.”
