Doctors say he will be kept under observation for 72 hours before any conclusions can be drawn
Prominent musician Subir Nandi has been hospitalized at Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Sunday night.
The Bangla Tribune quoted his relative Tripti Kaur saying that Subir was returning home from Sylhet by train when he began to feel unwell. The train was stopped at Cantonment Railway Station, and Subir was taken to CMH immediately.
Upon his arrival, Subir suffered a heart attack around 11pm and was put on life support at the hospital’s Coronary Care Unit.
Doctors say he will be kept under observation for 72 hours before any conclusions can be drawn.
The 66-year-old singer was recently awarded with the Ekushey Padak for his innumerable contribution to Bangla culture and arts. He has also received four national awards and countless others for his phenomenal musicianship. His career spanning over four decades began with Sylhet Radio in 1967. Since then, he has sung over 2,500 songs, frequently collaborating with some of the best artists in the industry.
