Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni cultural festival organized by the Gopalganj Shilpakala Academy, with a motto to build a creative nation, was held at the academy premises on Wednesday.
The cultural program began with popular songs of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra. Later, the artistes paid tribute to Bangabandhu, and Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni through songs. The artistes also performed dance pieces, and recited poems.
UNO of the Kotalipara upazila, SM Mahfujur Rahman, General Secretary of the Shilpakala Academy, Khandokar Khalid Saadi, Cultural Officer, Al Mamun Bin Saleh were also present on the occasion.
In his speech Khandokar Khalid Saadi said: “We gained this country through a blood shedding Liberation War, and we should build our country in that spirit.”
The festival that began at 6pm ended at 9pm. The audiences enjoyed the performances from evening to night.
