Actor-turned-Islamic-preacher Ananta Jalil is apparently all set to join a Waz Mahfil as the chief guest on November 17 in Dhaka. The Mahfil will be held at Adabar 17B Jame Masjid in Mohammadpur.

A poster of the Mahfil, featuring the name of the renowned film actor, businessman and philanthropist, has been making rounds on social media.

According to the poster, Mufti Habibur Rahman Mizbah will be the lead speaker in the Mahfil organised by a group of local youths.

It also said that special arrangements for female audiences will be in place at the venue.

Many have shared the photo of the poster on social networking sites, including Facebook.

While some criticised the film star alleging he was making publicity stunts, many others applauded Ananta Jalil’s sudden religious transformation that has been widely featured in both local and international media.

The “Khoj: The Search” actor had made the surprising revelation in July when he came to Facebook live and invited his fans to join him at Dhanmondi’s Rabindra Sarobar where he preached the messages of Islam.
