The Exhibitors’ Association decided to lift the boycott on some artists while Chalachitra Paribar leaders vowed to work together closely
At last, the tension between several artists, directors, producers and film exhibitors has died down while decisions have been made that they will work together for upswing of the film industry from now on.
The conflict between the Chalachitra Paribar, an alliance of 18 associations of film actors, directors and producers, and the Bangladesh Film Exhibitors’ Association has finally ended as they greeted each other with bouquets at the Dhanmondi residence of Kazi Firoz Rashid, a member of the parliament.
In the meeting, the Exhibitors’ Association decided to lift the boycott on some artists while Chalachitra Paribar leaders vowed to work together closely.
On the night of August 12, the two parties sat in the meeting arranged by Kazi Firoz Rashid who invited actor Farooque, the convenor of Chalachitra Paribar, to sit in a settlement with the Film Exhibitors’ Association leaders.
Earlier in July, the Bangladesh Film Exhibitors’ Association decided to not exhibit any films of actor Riaz, Misha Sawdagar and producer Khorshed Alam Khosru in response to the physical assault of Iftekharuddin Naushad, the association’s president.
Apart from Kazi Firoz Rashid, Farooque and Iftekharuddin Naushad, the settlement meeting was attended by Badiul Alam Khakon, member secretary of Chalachitra Paribar, Zayed Khan, general secretary of Bangladesh Chalachitra Samiti, Riaz, vice-president of Bangladesh Chalachitra Samiti, and Khorshed Alam Khosru, film producer, among others.
