Int'l Trade Holding Company of Kuwait agreed to sponsor eight-nation Bangabandhu Gold Cup

Bangladesh football is all set to taste the flavour of international sponsorship as International Trade Holding Company (ITHC) of Kuwait agreed to sponsor the eight nation Bangabandhu Gold Cup football tournament scheduled to be held in September next.

Bangladesh Football Federation has been eying to host its own international tournament  for a long time and their dream is all set to come true with the arrival of ITHC who have hotel, real estate and construction business in a number of Asian countries.

In a press conference held at the Ruposhi Bangla Hotel yesterday  BFF President Kazi Salahuddin welcomed Dr. Hamad Al-Tuwaijri, the chairman of the ITHC and disclosed the Kuwaiti conglomerates involvement with Bangladesh football. “Dr. Hamad is a great friend of Bangladesh and he is keen to help the development process of the Bangladesh football, I welcome him to the Bangladesh football arena, ITHC has agreed to sponsor the Bangabandhu Cup and I hope the involvement will be strengthened further” said Salahuddin. 

“With the arrival of ITHC, a new door of Bangladesh football had been opened” added the BFF president. 

Dr. Hamad’s was upbeat with the development. “Bangladesh and Kuwait have a friendly relationship for near 40 years and I feel honoured to get involved with Bangladesh and particularly with football, we hope to build a sustainable relationship, we also have interest to assist the youth development” said Hamad. 

The details of sponsorship will be revealed later. BFF vice presidents Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Tabith Awal, women’s wing deputy chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron and general secretary Abu Naeem Shohag were also present on the occasion.

ITHC was founded in 2001 by its Chairman and President Dr. Hamad Al-Tuwaijri and continues to expand and grow in Kuwait and overseas.
