Big bad Thanos is here and he is taking no prisoners in his quest to acquire all six of the Infinity Stone’s. Assisted by his generals from “The Black Order,” Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Black Dwarf and Ebony Maw, Thanos plans to impose his own vision of reality upon the whole universe and he has no sympathy for anyone who gets in his way. Now the Avengers and their allies must face off against their most fierce enemy and the greatest threat to the whole universe as they race against time in order to stop Thanos from acquiring the Infinity Stones and avert the impending doom.
It’s amazing how a tiny plot set up in the after credit scene of Avengers (released in 2012) has finally taken full fruition and it is something to truly behold. People will argue MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) started in 2008, but objectively speaking the Infinity War story actually started in 2012. Since then, we have had a series of solo superhero movies with other heroes overlapping in them with the ever so far away allure of the ever impending arrival of Thanos in the background.
Well, he is here and he is ready to take matters into his own hands and dish out some tough luck. This movie features a galore of superheroes of the MCU solo movies finally coming together to face this common threat to the universe as we have been promised for so long, and boy does it deliver. With the story and its battles taking place on several different fronts, this movie is truly something to behold. All the lead actors and actresses deliver some stellar performances in depicting their characters’ growth. The Russo Brothers deliver some intense storytelling, plot twists, and jaw dropping action sequences which, coupled with the insane VFX provided by ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) really dishes out a movie/theatre a superb experience.
This is easily an 8.5 out of 10 movie. The reason for an 8.5 rating is that (and a huge nitpick), despite having some awe-inspiring battle sequences and locations, the prime gripe with the movie would be, it suffers a little bit of a lag during the story progression via character conversations, which felt a tad bit longer than they should have been. But that would be a common issue faced by a movie and storytelling of this magnitude, which summarizes 10 years, 18 movies, and a whole lot of pain and gain. This movie also delivers some surprise plot twists and character returns impossible to guess from an inch away. Anyone still on the fence (doubt it), still waiting, fan and non-fans should all try and catch this movie in the theatre at least once. This movie is really a work of art, as there is nothing like this available to compare to at the moment. It is a wonderful movie, which can be enjoyed by more or less all the demography of viewers, excluding babies of course. But yes, seriously, stop reading and go watch this movie.
