The versatile actor, Ahmed Rubel is pairing up with Indian acclaimed actor Rituparna Sengupta in a Kolkata movie Parapar.
Directed by Sanjoy Nag, the film started out in the same house, where Satyajit Ray’s Chiriakhana was shot years ago. Parapar, based on the Moti Nandy novel, is the story of a convict Rudra (Rubel) who returns home to his wife Damini (Rituparna) and two kids after serving a 14-year jail term. He comes back to find his homemaker wife transformed into a woman who had grown stronger over the years while taking care of herself and her kids.
The shooting of the film began on December 16.
For the first time, Rubel is working in a Kolkata movie, and about his experience, the actor shares: “It was always my dream to establish myself in the film industry. But I was never regular in the silver screen since good script is very rare here. The script of Parapar has appealed me so much that I did not have a second thought.” About his role, Rubel expresses, “As I am playing the role of a criminal, it’s very thrilling and challenging as well.”
About working with Rubel, Rituparna says: “A really pleasant experience working with such a brilliant Bangladeshi actor like Rubel.”
The film also stars Bratya Basu and Paoli in pivotal roles.
