5 get life term for series bomb blasts in Natore

A Natore court has sentenced five JMB members to life term imprisonment in a case filed over series bomb blasts in 2005. Natore Additional District and Session Judge Prodip Kumar Roy pronounced the verdict on Monday afternoon. The court also acquitted two other accused of the charge. The convicts are Abdul Matin alias Ismail, Hafizur Rahman alias Hafiz, Delowar Hossein alias Mithu, Abdur Rashid alias Asif, and Shihab Uddin Hanjala. On August 17, 2005, a group of JMB men exploded bombs in eight places in Natore including the DC office and a bus station. Natore sadar police station Sub-Inspector Mostafizur Rahman lodged a case on the night of the incident in this connection.
