Chhatra Dal’s seventh council on July 15

Voters will cast votes to elect leaders of Chhatra Dal'scentral committee on that day

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of BNP, has announced the schedule of its seventh council.

The council will be held on July 15, when voters will cast their ballots to elect leaders of Chhatra Dal's central committee.

A seven-member election organizing committee has been formed to arrange the upcoming council, said a statement signed by Khairul Kabir Khokon, convener of the election committee.

The election committee includes former Chhatra Dal leaders Khokon and Sultan Salahuddin Tuku. 

An appeal committee, led by Amanullah Aman and Shamsuzzaman Dudu, was also formed in this regard said a press release on Sunday.

Chhatra Dal has not had any council since 1992.

The draft and final voters list would be published on June 24 and 26 respectively, and the candidates can run their election campaign until midnight (11:59pm) of July 13.

Nomination forms for candidates would be available on June 29 to 30, the final candidates’ list would be released on July 7.

The statement also reads that a draft candidates’ list would be published on July 4, and the last day to appeal will be on July 5.

12 Chhatra Dal leaders expelled

BNP expelled 12 Chhatra Dal leaders of the recently dissolved committee for breaching party discipline, on Saturday night.

Earlier in the day, the aggrieved leaders of the recently dissolved committee threatened to continue their demonstration, until their demands for either the formation of a new short-term committee or the removal of age-limit are met.
