Bodies of 3 fishermen recovered in Shariatpur

Police on Thursday recovered dead bodies of three fishermen, who went missing following a collision between two speedboats on Wednesday during ilish netting in the Padma River in Shariatpur's Jajira upazila.

The deceased were identified as Mannan Bepari, 50, is the son of late Kader Bepari from Purbo Naodoba village of Shariatpur's Jajira upazila, Bacchu Madbor, 40, is the son of late Khaleq Madbor from Louhajang upazila of Munshiganj district and Niajuddin Sani,35 is the son of Rafiq Sani from Sonarchar village of Bhola's Charmanpura upazila. 

Belayet Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Jajira police station, said two speedboats collided with each other near Jhinu market in Padma River on Wednesday when some fishermen were fishing in the river.

Police recovered the body of Swapan Mollah, 35, from the river on that day while bodies of three other fishermen were recovered from Borokandi area in the upazila on Thursday afternoon and evening, he said.
