Two held with 30000 yaba pills in Cox's Bazar

The incident took place around 8am on Friday near Tulabagan area on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Road

Police arrested two people with 30000 yaba pills, and seized a microbus from their possession during a drive in Cox's Bazar.

The incident took place around 8am on Friday near Tulabagan area on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Road in the district's Ramu Upazila.

The arrested Akhlakul Islam, 23, is the son of Akkash Ali, and the other one Nurunnabi, 25, is the son of Harun Rashid from Manikganj's Daulatpur upazila.

Abu Abdullah, Police inspector of Tulabagan Highway Crossing Police Station confirmed the arrest to Dhaka Tribune.

Abu Abdullah, Police inspector of Tulabagan Highway Crossing Police Station said: ''Tipped off, police set up a check post near Tulabagan area in Ramu, and intercepted a microbus on Friday morning. After searching the vehicle, we recovered 30000 yaba pills hidden inside the soundbox.''

Later, we detained Akhlakul and Nurunnabi, and seized the microbus. After filing a case against them under Narcotics Control Act, we handed them over, along with the yaba pills, to Ramu Police Station, he added.
