2 bullet-hit dead bodies recovered from Cox’s Bazar

Sources said, after hearing the sounds of firing in the morning, police went to the spots and recovered the bodies

Police have recovered two bullet-hit dead bodies from Kata Pahar and Kobita Chattar areas of Cox’s Bazar town on Monday.

One of the deceased was identified as Rifat, 25, of Baharchara area of the town while the other could not be identified.

Sources said, after hearing the sounds of firing in the morning, police went to the spots and recovered the bodies.

Quoting the locals, Cox’s Bazar Sadar model police station OC Farid Uddin Khandokar said: "A gunfight might have taken place between two groups of drug dealers in the early morning. We are investigating the matter."

"On information, we recovered the bodies and sent those to Sadar hospital morgue, two locally made firearms and some two thousand yaba pills were seized from the spot," he added.
