Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has cancelled licences of 124 Voice over Internet Protocol Service Providers.
A letter was issued by Senior Assistant Director of BTRC Zakir Hossain Khan regarding the matter on Monday.
"Of the VoIP service providers, 106 failed to pay government dues and renew licence in time. Licences of another 18 service providers could not be renewed as they failed to submit applications properly," read the letter.
"BTRC asked the authorities to clear all the dues within a period of one month," it added.
Zakir said that copies of the letter were also sent to the concerned authorities.
